Fecal Test

Internal parasites can survive undetected inside our pets for years. Most veterinarians agree that regular testing and deworming is necessary to ensure our pet’s ongoing health. At VIP Petcare we strive to make these tests as simple of a process as possible.

We recommend testing, along with regular vaccination, annually. To simplify this process we make our test kits available for purchase via the internet, telephone and at any of our clinic locations.

Simply collect a sample, no older than 12 hours, and drop it off at any of our clinics. If you have no other purchases that day you do not need to wait in line! Hand the sample to any VIP employee and expect results within the following two to three business days.

Should a sample yield a positive result we contact the pet’s owner via telephone immediately. All negative results are notified by mail. We receive test results from the lab on the following Wednesday morning. Please feel free to contact us as early as Wednesday afternoon to obtain your results.

There is no set list of parasites which are tested for. The sample is examined by the professionals at Idexx Laboratories for any anomalies.
