Revolution Flea and Heartworm Preventive

For families with dogs, parasites like heartworm, fleas, ear mites and sarcoptic mites can be more than harmful. They may be devastating. Left untreated, heartworm can be fatal to a dog. What's worse, some of these external parasites are contagious and may spread from one pet to another - and sometimes even humans.

Revolution is quick drying, nongreasy and waterfast, with no unpleasant odor, so you can cuddle and play with your cat or dog as soon as Revolution dries. Because Revolution is waterfast, dogs can still do all the things they love to do around water without sacraficing protection. Studies show it's even effective if you bathe your dog two hours after applying.

Once applied, Revolution enters the bloodstream through the skin. Concentrations of Revolution in the blood and intestinal tract prevent heartworm disease and treat gastrointestinal parasites, respectively. Revolution selectively redistributes from blood to sebaceous glands, which are found below the skin surface. Revolution's presence in the sebaceous glands and in the skin is the reservoir of drug that provides protection against fleas, flea eggs, ticks and mites.

Revolution is safe for puppies and kittens as young as 6 weeks, breeding males and females, and pregnant and nursing dogs. In studies, less than 1% of dogs and cats experienced digestive upset. Approximately 1% of cats experienced temporary hair loss at the application site. Use with caution in sick, weak or underweight animals.
